Global security problems are no longer limited to traditional security threats. Human security is an a concept that recognizes that problems such as environmental degradation, persistent human rights violations, growing numbers of refugees, and extreme poverty not only threaten the livelihood and well-being of individual people but also tend to provoke conflict that threatens the security of the state. The adoption of human rights-related legal mechanisms, increasing influence of regional and international organizations, and a deeper understanding of the roots of conflict have helped to advance human rights and the study of human security issues. However, we must still overcome a number of challenges in our pursuit of universal and comprehensive human rights, and the international community must forge a global consensus on the principles of human security.

Through objective and in-depth analysis, IpsiKor seeks to facilitate understanding of these emerging areas of research and to produce policy reports that will help develop more comprehensive policy-making on these crucial topics.
